Gl1100 timing belt(1 or 2)?

Hi,

On an 81gl1100 are ther one or two timing belts? Previous owner provided1new belt when I bought it.

Make sure you buy the best quality belts and not cheap ones!!!
When you refit the belts follow the procedure in the manual very carefully and when satisified all is ok turn the engine over by hand with the spark plugs removed for ease. If you are out with the timimg and use the starter motor to turn the engine over it is powerful enough to bend the inlet /exhaust valves if hit by the piston if the timing is out.
Caution and care is the order of the day.
Also note the 4 bolts that hold the cam covers on-One is longer than the other three
