I'll look in my Box-O-Junk tonight.
By your description,it is a square formed piece of spring steel with tabs on it that keeps the pads from rattling.
Posting a pix would help too.

I'm pretty sure that's what he's talking about as well. They do come loose, I usually just bend the tab a little bit to make it grip better, then stick it back on there.

I've looked everywhere,I don't have any of them.Sorry about the false hopes.
Perhaps your's may be tweaked enough to still work or if broken, somebody may have one laying about.

How can it keep falling off when you have the pads pushing down on it . You should have to push the pads down to get the rods into place to hold the pads in

I just bought two of them from my local Honda dealer. They were $6.89 EACH!!!. I thought that was a ridiculous amount for a small piece of progressive metal stamped tin, but oh well. On line they were about the same price at Bike Bandit. Anywho...I have taken a photo when I installed mine. If they are the right shape, they will sit in the little indents and gently grab the sides of the inner caliper bracket. In the photo notice the side flange, you could gently bend the sides in a bit so that they will hold on to the inner bracket. It is strange to see that you said you can hear them rattle when you a riding. Are you sure that is what is rattleing? Even if they are a little loose, the caliper itself shold hold them tight enough once installed to hold them in place without rattle. Just seems strange to think I could hear them. the Honda dealer I got mine from is Bay Cycle Sales, Huron Road, Bay City, MI 48706.

They're not stamped tin...they're actually made of a fairly expensive stainless alloy that resists corrosion and is springy enough to be able to hold itself in place. That's actually not a bad price at all. Wait until you have to pay $26 for some exotic bolt that only Honda uses, and can't be found anywhere else. :)
