Saying hello and ? on trailor hitch

Postby tallman21 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 8:17 pm

Hey guys,

I havnt posted on here in... well over a year. I used to post all the time! I believe i still have some pics on my profile of the bike! gotta ad the new ones up! Anyways I was wondering where i might be able to find a good used trailor hitch for my 1980 Gl1100. I looked on ebay but each one look a little different and i wasnt sure if they woudl fit the bike. Problem is I am living in Grenada right now and flying home for the summer where the bike is. Looking to do some traveling with a trailer. Hope all is well on the forum. The how to articles saved my life when i first bought my bike.

All the best,

Eric

Not sure if 1200 would fit 1100 or not. If buying used make sure all parts are there. Might want to buy new to be sure to get correct fit with all parts. Search google and you will find suppliers for the hitch.

That's not a bad price. I've seen them go for 130 to 150.

I would be sure it would fit ok. When you buy something on fleabay you can't always return it. If you can get it really cheap it would be a good deal. Will it come with all the necessary hardware?

They usually do. I had to remove my hitch and trunks to replace my air shocks. The hitch shared the same bolts for the passenger foot boards and I noticed the bolts shared with the hitch were longer than the others. You will need to replace some of the bolts with longer hardened grade bolts. Like I mentioned, if the price is right it won't be a bad deal.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I tried to find info about the Wing Ding and have had no luck looking in the forums. I guess I just don't know what to search under. But if you could post any info about the Wing Ding, I would really appreciate it.
