aspencade headlight replacement

Postby dummysales » Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:10 am

OK, the service manual says remove the three screws from the headlight case and pull the lamp assembly. What I don't get is that with the fairing still on, there doesn't seem to be a way to "grab" the lamp assembly to pull it out. Any suggestions?

No, those instructions are for when you've already removed the headlight, to separate it from its frame.

To remove the headlight from the fairing, you remove the set screw in the headlight adjustment knob on the back of the fairing, then pull the knob off. You'll see a nut and a washer on the threaded shaft. Remove the nut and washer, and the headlight will fall out of the front of the fairing (so be ready to catch it!).

Great! thanks. I was looking at the knob and the instrument panel. Now I know. Your information is always exactly what I need. Great resource, bigger blessing!
