Hard to explain part needed

Postby dalez » Tue May 08, 2012 3:31 pm

this part doesn't show up in any diagrams so here goes... inside both the throttle and brake housings are a quarter moonshaped piece of metal with a tab in it. This tab goes into the indentation in the handlebars to keep the controls from rotating when you twist the throttle, etc. Mine are broken, does anyone know where I can buy this part, what it is called, or have come up with homemade fix?

Thanks

Dale

As far as I can see,it is a part of the switch assembly, not a separate item.
It may be easier to dimple a piece of metal then bend and shape it to fit.
Somebody may have one left over from a tear off.
I'm not sure of the description of the part other than its the lock insert.

Good point.I may be able to grind one out of a conduit locknut.

Edit-tabs are on the wrong side to grind off on the conduit clamp.
