Fuel gauge works then doesn't?

Hi,
My Fuel gauge works then doesn't? Some times it works fine then I start the bike and ride and it doesn't work,I get to where i am going and when i leave and start off again it working again!!!! any Idea's?

What about the temperature gauge? Does it stop working at the same time as the fuel gauge?

Take off the seat,then touch the two leads from the sending unit toghter,if the gauge goes all the way to full,your gauge is good.Then suspect the sending unit.There is a diy article on the subject on refreshing the sending unit.Not hard at all.Regards,Johnyy

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that i think i fixed it! Real simple and stupid (talking about me lol) I removed the seat cleaned the connections and bingo it been working no problem........... feeling like a fool something so simple ..........lol
