GL1100

Postby yogie007 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 12:35 pm

I have a 1980 GL1100 since new. Just rehabbed it. Starts and idles OK but driving under load seems to bog down whether you gas it slowly or try to air it out. Maybe some electrical issue? What do you think may be the problem?

Have you changed/gapped the plugs on it?

Is it whenever it is under any load, or only when you open the throttle?

The bike runs great under full throttle in neutral but as you drive and shift and accellerate tends to bogs down. It doesn't backfire. Not sure if it's to lean or electrical.

Could be either, but electrical is where I'd go first, simply because it's cheaper, easier and faster. :) Weak spark can cause just what you're describing.
