Loud Whine...( not me, my wing) Speedometer

Postby rolltide9630 » Sat Feb 06, 2010 11:16 am

I'm getting a loud whining noise sometimes while I'm riding, speedometer starts jumping like crazy while it's making the noise. Then it will suddenly stop making the noise and the speedometer stops jumping. Any suggestions?

Best and simplest guess would be the speedometer cable. Try unscrewing the cable from the back of the speedo, and putting some cable lube down into it. Then reattach and see if it makes any difference.
