Do I get a new bike?

Post by myfirstgl » Tue May 29, 2012 9:25 am

Hey guys. I have a 1980 GL1100 with 205 000 km's(about 127 000 miles). The bike goes really well and I love it but I'm afraid it's getting old and will break down on a ride. Everywhere I go people complement the bike, how clean it is, how good it looks, how they had one just like it in the 80's. I would like a new paint job, maybe a new seat from Corbin for more comfort, I have stainless steel braided lines and a new brake booster but I still think the bike could use more braking power. My water pump will need replacing soon,I imagine, after 200 000 plus km's. Is it worth keeping or should I get a more recent one, or completely different bike? I know this is blasphemy on Goldwing site but I really love the Victoty Hardball!! Thanks in advance for your comments.

What....Sell what your familiar with and buy a unknown? :o
At least you know what yours needs and how to keep it moving :geek:
It's not unheard of to see the wings with 200,000 miles on them either.
Run that darlin till the wheels fall off. :)
