GL1100 that has a Tack that sounds like it's coming apart. Tried speedo lube down the cable, no help. Took it off and turned it upside down and put some graphite in it. This stopped the noise for a while. Anyone got ideas on how to get it apart or a repair?

I believe you have to pry off the chrome ring around the front to get them apart, and after that, you can't really get them together properly again. I haven't done it, I think some others here might have.

Theres a guy who rebuilt a speedo and took good pics as he did the repair including splitting the ring and how he put it back together. The authors handle is GINSCO and the article name is GL1100 speedometer fix. If link doesn`t work use this in forum search window at that site. Hope this link works, took alittle effort to find it. www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/view_topic ... er+rebuild
