radio/CB/CASSETTE GL1100A 1983

my radio doesnt show that it has any power to it Im tryin to figure out why it doesnt work what are the steps to go thru to frack down the problem where to start first steps I need to go hru if anyone can help thank you I need it when I turn the power on nothing happens do I need the antenna on bike to have power where do i find the power source at where do I start to traceing the wires at want some music please help

If you remove the left front turn signal, you'll find a rats nest of wires in there, and amongst the wires you'll find quite a few inline fuse holders. I'd start by checking all of the fuses in those fuse holders.

well took the bike to a friend that does radio work and he looked at all those fuses that you was talking about that I looked at 2 or 3 times and didn't see any brakes or blown fuses but he took them out and put them in a tester and 3 of them had hair line brakes you couldn't see so replaced them and all the radios worked cb am fm cassette player so now I need to get head set for helmet to talk to back rider so right now my bike has been fixed motor wise and every thing else that didn't work is working so now im just loving life on my 83 wing and thanks to this site for all the knowledge yal have and the fast help you all give so big thanks to everyone and hope everybody rides safe and rides a lot thanks to all from rick wingman83 ransom :D :D :D :D :D : :lol: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

I had that same problem (hairline fuse breaks). Those glass fuses are only a few cents, cheapest way of ruling out that problem is to simply replace all those old fuses with new ones. If the problem goes away, then you know that was your problem.

i wish I would have done that a year ago but live and learn but it works great now love riden with some jams on now that the tape deck works cassette player that is lol i need to find some cant fined my old collection but love the music on long rides thanks again for this site and all the help and if anyone has or knows where to find the complete anntnnea and line let me know cant seem to find an original one any where Im missing the wire stem part of mine but have one on it but not the best signal tho thanks again for all the help ride safe and long rides a head
