1983 GL 1100 Air Aspencade Suspension problems???

Post by kburr379 » Mon Jun 11, 2012 6:29 pm

I am new to the Goldwing scene. My uncle passed away and I was giving his 1983 Aspencade. I have learned a lot of things along the way. But this one has me stumped. I pulled the compressor off and dried the beads inside. Put it all back together and still have the same problem. I have made sure that the dump valve is not pressed or stuck by spraying it with some lube oil. But still the suspension will not pump up. When I use the pump, it pushes air out of the pick up line. But will not pump up the front or the rear suspension. Any ideas????

Might sound obvious but are there hose/joint leaks? And i understand there`s a right and wrong switch sequence to adding/ releasing air to/from the system.

I have the same problem with my 83 aspencade just started two nights ago I took out the compressor and clean the dryer put it all back together compressor ran and ran and ran nothing to the shocks looked around for kinked hoses everything was right pulled I cleaned and lubed evey valve I could see then I thought it might have been me because I wired the compressor up so I could adjust my shocks while riding so I hooked up factory wire no I tried hand pump no so I fixed my home compressor shot a blast air she stood right up I let the air back out of them figured had a clogged for pinched hose still nothing when I tried to air it up so hit it again with home compressor is holding I'm just going to do away with the compressor unit
