Windjammer.

Postby Flatblack » Tue Jun 26, 2012 12:29 pm

I was wondering if anyone has taken off the windjammer on a 81 gl-1100. I'm going to paint it and was wondering how much work it is to remove? Or should I just leave it on to paint

It comes off really easy. On the left side there is a plug for the wires, just unplug it. The windjammer is held on with four bolts and nuts. If you look under the fairing you will see them. It will be alot easier to paint with it off, and the paint job will turn out better too. I removed all the painted parts on my GL1100 to paint them. Here is a pic of the end result
