Postby ram11397 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 10:31 pm

Hi,
I have checked the archives not sure if i am wording it right, but i can not find anything to tell me how to check air pressure,I have seem on here that the Gauge on the bike is for setting the pressure not checking. so how do you do it? from what i found you can't all you can do is depress let air out then refill?

That's right. When you check the pressure, it actually equalizes front/back due to the way the valves are constructed - so there is no way to just "check" the pressure. So if you want to be sure, let some air out, then do the normal fill procedure (back first, then front).

That said, if you DO want to check, check the back first (and fill if required), then do the front (which will normally require you to let some out, as it will take some pressure from the back line).

got an 82 aspy that has a schrader valve very near the compressor and appears to be connected to the front lines only

supposed it was an alternative way to pump air manually,

dunno what it's for exactly though i thought i could use it to check the front end air pressure?

or does it affect both ends when pumping up, and or read the the equalized pressure?

didn't find a separate one for the back end
