is outstanding congradulations on a site that someone no matter thier experience level can go to and find out a real answer without being redirected around in a circle all day and getting no where.Well as a new member here I thought id drop a line in and say hello ,im from ND and new to these bikes just bought a 1981 GL 1100 interstate.Decent older bike and have already used this site to remove(was supposed to finish article all the way) starter couldnt rebuild as comm is smoked in one spot and brush holder spring is limp so Im searching for a good used one.Any how my wife and I look forward to riding agian soon, Im supposed to be everyday as I bought it to park my gas hawg silverado to and from work. Thanks agian .

Welcome to the forum. Hope you get the bike on the road soon. Have you checked the classified section to see if anyone has a starter for your 1100? Ebay is another good place.

Blackwolf8, I couldn't agree with you more about how amazing this site its for suggestions and diagnosis of all things goldwing. I have an 82 Interstate that is a work in progress and this site has been invaluable so far. If you are planning to bring your bike to the Grand Forks area send me a pm. Is love to talk goldwing with someone in person.

I couldn't agree more. This site has helped tremendously while I was resurecting my 1980 GL1100. As for the starter, I found a company called DB Electric that sells a starter for the GL1100 for around 80.00 on Ebay. Fits perfectly and works great. once again great work on the site, guys
