GL1100 headlight

Post by daaaon » Sat Aug 25, 2012 11:41 am

Now that my bike is running good I want to replace headlight( not very bright).

I seen post to use Sylvania sealed beam 6024 but can only find H6024 at 65 watts.

Can the electrical system handle this?

Also has anyone found a HID kit for this model that works with high and low beam?

They offer LED headlights for on-road vehicles and they produce a lot of light and do not overwork the charging system.

Yes the system will handle the change. You will e very happy with the change. I found the amperage draw was less than the old lamp with the Silverstar replaceable bulb.

H6024 is a sealed beam halogen not led(I have not seen led headlight)
Most auto stores carry it.

That particular one is no go... "For off-road use only. All specifications are subject to change without notice."

Pretty much all aftermarket LEDs and HID replacements for headlights must say "for off-road use only" for liability reasons, if they are not DOT certified.

Most of the DOT certified street-legal LED headlights are sealed beam: http://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-Round-L6 ... ingdocs-20
