Do you have a heel/toe shifter? Sometimes those shifters can cause gears to not go in all the way, and they can then jump out. Same thing if you aren't shifting as firmly as usual - I noticed on my 1100 that if I was getting tired/lazy and wasn't shifting as firmly as I normally would, I would sometimes have it jump out of gear.

Other causes: Bent or worn shift actuating mechanism under the front engine cover, causing it not to shift fully into gear, worn shift actuator in the transmission (the fork that shoves the gears together), worn gear dogs in the transmission (the parts on the gears that engage one another when shifted into gear). Those can both be worn by hard shifting, shifting without the clutch, or by resting your foot on the shift lever when not shifting.

also look at the shifting lever. if it's loose on the shaft or hitting the frame from misalignment it may not be letting the mechanism to fully engaged the gear.
