I am ready to shoot the speedo.........lol I got new cable, new assembly box retainer, a new (secondhand in working condition) gear box assembly. Only thing left is the gauge itself I can't see anything else that works in conjunction with the speedo. tonight when i got home from work and stopped and turned off the bike the gauge was stuck on 20 mph I undid the cable at the back of the gauge and it dropped to zero!!!!
Have i missed anything? only thing i dislike about changing gauge ,bike won't show original mileage.

Rick if this was my problem I'd go to ebay and find another speedo, once it arrived I would then dismantle the one I have and try to clean it up, if it works great if not then I would used the used one..It's your speedo gauge I bet...
