Windshield adjustment

Post by aznyaz » Mon Sep 03, 2012 11:15 am

I have my windshield adusted to the lowest setting on my fairing. Is there a shorter windshield available or can mine be cut down? The top of the windshield is right at eye level and would serve me better if it was shorter so I wouldn't have crane my neck to look over it.

The windshield is just plexiglass so it can be cut. You just want to be sure to use lots of masking tape (the blue stuff) on both sides of the window to discourage cracking. After the cut is made you'll want to sand and round the edges really well to make them smooth then take off the tape. A dremel tool with a cut off wheel is probably the safest way to cut it without damaging the window since it requires very little pressure. Good luck!
