heated pants on stock alternator

Postby billviera » Fri Sep 14, 2012 8:46 pm

I have 1983 aspy and was looking at getting the heated pants--- they draw 2.7 amps ----- I get 14.7 volts during normal riding will the alternator handle this--------what does the radio draw for amps ?

to change the alt do you need to remove the engine?
thanks Bill

Your bike can handle 2.7 amps with ease - assuming you haven't got lots of other lights or electrical accessories.

Replacing the stator requires removing the engine, yes.
