Spitting oil out can be caused by any number of things. Overfilled oil in crankcase, stuck valve, leaky valve guides, to name a few. None of those require an engine rebuild. Things such as failed piston rings or pistons can also cause this, but you'll tend to see more smoke than oil.

Does the 1983 Goldwing have other applications like the 1982"s,,,, what I am asking is, are there both Interstate and Aspencade a choice in 1983 as there was in 1982. I am assuming there was ,, But we all know what that does !!!Thanks

Re: 82" GL1100A (air compressor)

Postby kajunmisfitt » Thu Nov 22, 2012 10:16 pm

After almost 3 years this Feb. 2013, We are ready too bring this baby home, BUTTTTTT, about 2 seeks ago, He went to finish putting this bike back together, when he said the (air compresssor) wasn't working anymore. When he took the radio out for me to send to Serria Electronics in Ohio, the Air Compressor was working. Now that he put everything back together this is what is happening. MY QUESTION IS CAN ANYTHING THAT INVOLVES PUTTING THIS RADIO BACK IN HAVE ANYTHIG TO DO WITH THE AIR COMPRESSOR, WHETHER IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH A WIRE NOT HAVING PERFECT CONTACT WHEN THE ENDS WERE REPLACED. or was the brackets that holed the radio in and the fairing in place have anything to do with this blasted air compressor. thanks for ya'll advice !!!!

Wiring not in the same place but as one moves things around you could loosen something..I think the compressors are the same..easy check hot wire the compressor if it runs..then wiring or button issue.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
RB
