Reserve Tank

Postby Dakotaman » Tue Oct 02, 2012 7:07 am

I will be winterizing my 83 for the winter. Is the reserve tank the same tank that we always add gas too? If I add a Stabiliser to the gas tank does that take care of the reserve also? I imagine the main tank and reserve is the same, but the gas gets sucked out at different levels? Thanks in advance!

Your exactly right.different levels.don't forget to run the bike after the Stabil is added to get it into the carbs.

I like to take the supply hose off the fuel pump and connect a hose to the pump, and suck 2 cycle gas into the engine and carbs. then remove it and run it dry. then there is a light coat of oil in the carbs. keeps things lubed up till spring.
(don't forget to put the fuel line back on).( stabilizer in the main tank too )
works for me !
