Help with my new purchase 82 GL1100 Interstate

Hello everyone i just bought a 82 GL1100 and it rides real ruff in the rear,i didnt even know it had air ride until i started do research on it. Although i never hear any compressor run or anything. where do i check the air pressure for the rear shocks and further more find out where the compressor is and if its running?Any help would be great thanks alot guys!

My 83 Interstate had no compressor. I use a small bicycle pump.The rear is aired up by a air valve mounted next to the rear master cylinder.It's at the rear under the right side cover.I ride at about 45 psi.
The front forks are aired up on the same of valve.It's mounted on the top of the right fork.Mine runs at 4 psi.
Remember all is done while on the center stand ONLY.
