How to add a headlight to a converted GL1100I

Postby Cousin Johnny » Mon Jan 28, 2013 1:22 am

Hey everybody, I just started a 1981 GL1100 Interstate to Standard conversion. I'm wondering what does everybody who converts back to standard do with all the wiring in the ballast area and how do they tap into connections for the headlights and turn signals? I tried to find an old post without luck. Thanks. Johnny

easy way is to cut off or unplug all you can at the connections at the old lights and label them. There are only 7 of them to the lights..then look at the fairing harness plug do the same. Cut the plug out and splice the wires you label in to the now open wire harness end..cap all the extra wires and you are done. Or leave the big plug in place and cut off all the wires you don't need..radio etc. from the fairing side after the connector and you done again but with a bigger bundle to hide.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,

This is a great site here, but with this project you might want to look at http://www.ngwclub.com/
It is for Naked Golwingers.
