Hooking up Hopkins 46255 converter

Postby NKYWinger » Fri Feb 01, 2013 12:44 pm

A call to the gurus of Gold Wings....! I just want to make sure I'm reading my Clymer's correctly before I start cuttin' and solderin'....

Sky Blue - Right Turn
Orange - Left Turn
Green/Yellow - Brake
Brown - Tail Light

Does this look correct to you :?: :?:

Thanks in advance!

It depends where you're hooking in. This also inexplicably changed for different years/models of 1100. For the 83 Aspencade, hooking in at the rear of the bike, it's:

Light Blue: Right turn
Green/Yellow: Brake
Green: Ground
Orange: Left Turn
Brown: Running Light

So you have it correct!

John did you get the converter hooked up ok...I remember it has two red power wires, one goes to the Battery [fused line] and the other went to a switched source which was the brown wire under the seat [constant power when key is on]...The other wires you have all listed correctly and just tie into them...I never had a problem with either of mine...This item gives me peace of mind, as I know nothing will be overloaded and my electrical system is protected..

The converter is all hooked up; I went right to the battery for 12V+ and 12V-; all the other wires I soldered into their respective lines for a worry-free hook up. I'm expecting no problems from it; just need some warmer weather here...HA!
