Honda Dealer Air Filter Price.
I went to my local Honda dealer to check the price for a new regular air filter for my 82 GL1100i. $36.50!!!!!!!! I will buy one for $16.00 on line, and then I'm going to take the old one, and use the skeleton to build my own, and have it tested by a friend in HVAC that said he could do that. I'm figuring it will cost me about $8.00 to make. I will keep you posted. But for the Honda dealer to charge $36.50 for THAT? I want to support my local business, but they have to be more reasonable. I told them if they would knock 10 bucks off, I would buy it. Guess what they said?

I'm sure they said no, as they can't possibly compete with a cyber store, and their purchases prices are set by Honda. They probably pay $25 for that filter.patbrandon1 wrote:I went to my local Honda dealer to check the price for a new regular air filter for my 82 GL1100i. $36.50!!!!!!!! They wanted $20 for an oil filter. I didn't ask the price for an air filter for my 1500 but I'm sure it's south of $50.

Actually the price of an OEM air filter forthe 1500 is more than that, I just bought a new one last week from my local dealer , it set me back $62and change after taxes(deep sigh)

$11.00 from Cyclemax for an Emgo: http://cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/gl1000_ ... 29809/8139
Your dealer is ripping you off for the 1500 filter too, RoadRogue - with over a 100% markup. OEM GL1500 filter from Cyclemax: $32. http://cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/gl1500_ ... 744/115711

Re: Honda Dealer Air Filter Price.
We do have to pay more for just about everything up here and I was expecting it , but double the price?
I got the same guy to price me a new front tire the other day as well, he came in $12 higher than another shop just up the road from me. Guess I wont be going back to that dealer for anything anytime soon. I know that we dont have alot of riders in this area so his volume is low but with that kind of mark up on parts he should have had the decency to at least put on a ski mask...........

Have you tried Canada's Motorcycle for tires?? I got a set for my 1500 from there. Excellent service, price and fast shipping. The tires were fresh and well packed.
