Any problem with a modulator on the low output electrical system of the old wings?

No, you want the P115W for the GL1100.

No problem with a modulator, it will actually slightly DECREASE the electrical load on your bike overall.

The P75 is tempting because of the price, but the P115W is made specifically for your bike.. I think the P75 could be made to work (you only have a single healdight on a GL1100) with a little modification to the bikes wiring, but the P115W is a plug & play, no modifications required..
