Fuse box and fork seals

Postby ghstrdr » Sun Apr 04, 2010 8:21 pm

Hello. I just acquired a 1982 Goldwing Interstate. Neither my headlights, brake lights, nor any of the auxilliary lighting works; thus it won't pass inspection. Can anyone tell me where the fuse box is located? I don't have an owner's maual yet. Secondly; I noticed some fluid leaking around the forks. Is fork seal repair something that I can do myself, or do I need to have it professionally done?

Thanks for any assistance.

The fuses are located under the "false tank". Unlock and open the false tank (where you put the gas in), and look near the front of the compartment. You'll see a black plastic cover with the various fuse purposes printed on the top of it. Remove that cover, and you'll see the fuses underneath it.

As for the front forks - a fork seal repair can certainly be done yourself. I don't have any information on doing it here (yet) but there are a few good threads on the web that cover it. I'd have a look at this: GL1100i Fork Seal Replacement
