1980 GW Interstate shifter

Postby Patriccio » Wed Mar 20, 2013 2:22 pm

I just bought a 1980 GW w/ 50k on the odometer. Presently, I am trying to lighten the thing up by stripping off all the extraneous ballast. I'm wondering if I can install regular GW shifter & pegs on it after removing the footboards?
Good into shall be appreciated.

Thanks. I'm also wondering if anyone in the San Diego area can use any of the equipment I have removed from the bike. I've removed the fairing & all the hardware, the panniers, the trunk, the floorboards. None is in very good condition, but the ABS plastic is not really bad for the age. The radio & mirrors are in fair condition. I would hate to just toss this stuff if someone can recondition.
Thanks

Put the stuff off your Goldwing on eBay! I might be interested in the trunk for my 1980 standard that I just purchased a rack for...

It's all gone. All the heavy stuff I removed from the unit is gone. Now, I see if I can get it started.
