Fast flashing blinkers

Postby lacanars » Sat Apr 13, 2013 3:27 pm

I replaced all the bulbs with LED's and installed a three prong electronic flasher for LED's but it flashes super fast when just the key is on, if I start the bike then it flashes so fast it is like a fliker. The flasher shows that it has a + a - and Load for the prongs and all are hooked up right. Could it be that the flasher is bad, not a true LED flasher, or just cause I bought a cheap one and need to buy a better one?

Im not 100% sure on this one but.... The flasher in the bike is a mechanical type.. the terminal gets hot and jumps off of the contact... The led might have a diffrent AMP rating which may mess things up... I would try to stick an electronic or newer style flasher on it and see what happens. I used to sell them at the truck dealer i worked at.. terminals might be diffrent.

Just some food for thought.

I have already installed an electronic flasher for LED's. I am going to switch back to the standard bulbs and see if it is in the flasher.

Bought a better flasher, a little moe $$ but it worked, guess my suggestion is not going cheaper...
