electronic tach on 82 I

Going to change over to an electronic tach for my 82 Interstate.
Wondering if anyone has done this. I keep running across issues for the fact that the coils are split. Which one or both do I hook up to???

Most conversions that I recall have a selectable input for the ignition pulse.
I don't recall any tach that taps both coils.
You will need the specs on the tach to determine if it's compatible with the 4 cylinder dual coil engine.
If I remember right,with the wasted spark method,each coil is pulsed once per revolution of the crank so 1000 rpm=1000 pulses per minute.

Better verify that...I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

If you find a tach that works please post it in here, I'm looking for one to since I have a 1200 motor and it had an electronic tach originally.
