Water pump question

Postby robertdawber » Thu Apr 08, 2010 4:03 pm

Should the water pump spin free or have a slight drag when out of the bike?

I'd suggest it should have slight drag. If it spins freely I'd say it's way past it's best before date.

It has a slight drag because of the internal seals. It will not spin freely, even when brand new. If it does, the internal seals are shot, and you might as well toss it in the garbage.

Well, that is good news to me!
Thanks.
