another clarion ll sound problem

gl1100 clarion ll radio w/cb.

I searched the threads but did not find my problem. Thanks for any help:

My system was working fine and I replaced the volt meter with a digital volt/temp gauge. That works great.

When I moved the nest of wires in the fairing I disturbed something.

1)Now when I turn the key on I get a loud buzz over the speakers and headphones. Engine not running.

2)When I turn the top left know(mute) on the pad by left knee to off the speakers give sound.when turned to on no radio through the speakers but the cb receives sound through the speakers.
The vol on the radio woks fine.

3)When I hit the speaker button it shows on the gauge as off or on but the speakers never go off

4)I can receive cb but can not get out to talk.

Any guidance for any help is appreciated

I'd say you disturbed the wire between the switcher and the power amplifier. Go into the fairing and make sure all the wires are plugged in solid.

Could be a ground loose but if it`s easy and just for the heck of it try disconnecting the new voltmeter and see if that is causing some interference, at least before you start chasing wires.

I ran a power wire to the volt meter and a seperate ground wire to the volt. Volt meter works great and got rid of the buzz.
Now trying to track down the other problems.
Thanks for the advise
