KTM Fork Seal Tool Doctor

Postby Crmpacer » Mon Apr 22, 2013 12:02 am

I was wondering if there was options to a front and rear fork seal rebuild? (GL1100 Aspencade 1982)

I found this online http://www.ebay.com/itm/230953647149?ss ... 1439.l2649 and was wonding if anyone had used it and what kind of results they had had.

I would like to put progressive 416 on the back and progressive springs in the front forks but it is not in the budget right now. I am hoping I can fix these on the cheap so they will hold air until I can do it right.

Thanks for all the wonderful advice and direction.

You can make one out of coke can, milk bottle..plastic, film negative if you are old and still have negatives.. :D , or 2 quart soda bottle. Or buy one for $7 from sealmate..google them here's a pic of what you make.

Just slide it in between the tube and seal move it around the tube pull it out and it will remove any grit in there..do it twice..once around pull out re-insert, spin, pull out.

What RBGERSON said.

Since I found out about this trick I haven't had to replace a fork seal, but have fixed quit a few.
