Key Switch

Postby Mr. C » Sat Apr 27, 2013 1:01 pm

Key Switch finally gave up the ghost, what's the requirement to get it out? I have the front cover off, now do I remove the tack an speedo to be able to get at it, or do I have to remove the top of the steering head ?? or ?? or ?? or ??
Thanks

it's removed from the bottom.2 nuts, either side, unplug it first. The electric is separated from the housing by turning the key to the on position.

Got it, got the Tack an Speedo out of the way, tried a boxed end wrench an it wouldn't fit in the slot to get on the bolt, so then tried 1/4'' ratchet with regular socket, just a tad to short, deep socket to long, so ended up putting 2 washers on the ratchet an then the socket, which gave it just the right lenght. :) just a little tibbit for the next person that has to do this.
