i just got my 83 1100 out had it running for like 20 min put it in 1st put it in the garage and tryed to put it into neutral.well it was tough to do. is it because it sat all winter and the clutch plates were a little stuck?? any suggestions this is my first gold wing thanks josh

i've discovered with shifting, at least on my bike, it's a matter of finding an oil the bike likes. i ran 10w40 all winter but when the temp started climbing, the bike started complaining. i started running 20w50 and the shifting smoothed right out.
WHAT IS THE SPEED OF DARK?
The previous owner of my 1982 GL1100 ran the Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic. With that in the crank case I had trouble finding neutral, at times it seemed almost impossible especially with a hot engine. Also with the thinner oil it seemed to shift harshly when up to operating temperature. I switched to Rotella 15w-40 and am very pleased with the results. The nice thing is that you can get a 1 gallon jug for roughly $13 at WalMart. This spring (still waiting for it anyway) I will be cleaning the crank case with SeaFoam as well, which many on here are quite happy with.
