Bad Gas??

Postby tunaboy » Thu May 02, 2013 2:08 pm

I did belts, wires, thermostat, coolant etc. etc. I started the bike 2-3 days ago and all seemed well. I put on 20 miles just driving around within 6 blocks just to make sure all was well. Needed to tighten up a radiator hose and all looked good. Nice smooth idle and seemed strong when the RPM's were up. I only run non ethanol and that was in the bike during the initial testing. I decided to drive 30 country miles to the source of the GOOD gas. I ran it pretty hard on the way out and it pulled nice and hard with no issues. I was pumped!. I put about 2.5 gallons of new GOOD gas and headed home. About 15-20 minutes later on the way home I punched it and it stumbled and popped a little. I drove it home and had the same problem when punching it hard it would stumble. I just ran it through my neighborhood and the stumble is still there. I am hoping that it is the gas. I think that I should burn up the gas in the tank and go for a refill. Should I add some sea foam before I run the gas through the bike? I was VERY happy yesterday, not so much today. Wrenching is OK but I really want to RIDE.

At this moment,if you use Sea Foam, you'll never know if it was the gas or not.
Refill and test again. Then you can determine if it was just the gas....

dump the gas and refill 1/2 way then you will know if it is the gas or something else.
If the gas station just had their tanks filled they could have stirred up their junk in their tanks and you got it in yours.

Just a thought
