Gas Shelter Door Removal

Postby sswantee » Wed May 08, 2013 4:15 pm

Hello All,

My gas shelter upper door is in rough shape, so I bought one off Ebay that was in better shape. I have the shelter off the bike, and unbolted the door mounting bolts and also removed the bolts holding the front shelter brace on the underside of the faux tank. Problem is I still can't get the door off the shelter no matter how I wiggle it around. Is there a trick to it or does it require a complete disassembly of the shelter, rivets drilled out etc., etc.

Steve

you have to carefully remove the rubber gasket. Then it slides right out. BUT before you do that take a pic of how the springs go back into place. It drove me nuts trying to get it back on and work.
