Raising ride height

Postby washandy98664 » Fri May 17, 2013 7:10 pm

Wondering if anyone has raised the height of Gl 1100
In the rear?
I am only 6'1" and seems to me that my saddle is very low to the ground.
I also seem to be kinda crunched up while riding.
Any others feel this way?

Ha, I wish I had that problem, but mine is the opposite
Perhaps a pair of Progressive 416's would make a difference over the 30 year old shocks. I bought some on eBay, but still have to rebuild them. From what I've heard they don't sag as bad as originals. Hopefully others who have them installed will post.

Raising the ride height won't help your legs. The issue is the distance from the seat to the pegs.

I too have the same problem. The bike has a custom seat for the PO who was shorter than me. I cut a piece of rubber about 1" thick and stuck it under the front of the seat and just use the back 2 bolts to hold the seat in place. 1" helps and you cannot see it under the seat. I cut the rubber on a wood band saw from a Y piece that goes in the front of a small boat trailer.
