Front Brakes

Post by whiteeaglepwl » Sat May 18, 2013 3:34 pm

Hey all
It is me again. I just replaced my front tire and on the DYI it says to check the brake with a 0.7 mm Filler gauge well I checked mine and I cant get the gauge between the brakes and the rotter on either side, I tried t adjust the axle nut like it says to do but nothing helps. Anyone know what else I can do or what I need to do to fix this. Could it be my calibers not releasing or what?
Thanks Phillip

You don't put the feeler gauge between the rotor and the brakes, you put 0.7mm feeler in between the caliper mount and the rotor at several spots on both sides of the rotor, on both the left and right sides of the motorcycle. If there is binding, loosen the axle holder nuts and adjust the fork leg in or out as required, then snug the axle holder nuts again and recheck.
