Tach Seal

Postby xero66 » Sat May 25, 2013 1:29 pm

Got a question about a new tach seal for my 83 interstate. I'm wondering about which side of the new seal goes up. One side had grooves and a spring around the center portion of the seal and the other side is flat. I'm assuming the grooved side goes up. The other thing I'm having trouble with is getting the cable far enough into the housing to get the mounting screw through the housing to hold the cable in place.
Any info would be appreciated.

It's been a while but mine was only an o ring..no grooves no spring..maybe yours is not the right seal..so too fat to allow cable to seat and bolt to fit????
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83

So I thought. Turns out that I didn't get the all of the old seal out. Once I got it properly cleaned out the new seal fit fine.
Thanks for your reply.
