how do I replace the headlight

Post by nitedreamer413 » Thu Apr 15, 2010 2:23 pm

The side adjustment nut came off of the adjustment for the headlight that makes it go left to right, with the little spring on it and I can't figure out how to get to it to put it back on.What do I do? It is a 1981 honda gl1100 interstate goldwing and the fairing has no access to the back where the headlight is!Can you help me with this A.S.A.P.,as I can't ride it till it's fixed! Thankyou Jim

It's fairly easy. On the side of the height adjustment knob, on the back side of the fairing, there is a small set screw. Loosen this screw until you can pull the knob off. You'll then see a nut, and two washers that you have to remove. Once those are removed, you can pull the headlight out the front of the fairing.
