brake fluid question

Postby s_lapid » Tue Jun 18, 2013 10:32 am

hello all
I changed the old brake fluid in my 1980 GL1100 (front + rear ) and I used DOT4 fluid . only later I noticed A warning on the master cylinder cap - to use only DOT3 ]brake fluid ..
Is this serious? what can be the effect of using the dot4 instead the dot3? do I have to flush the system and drain the dot4 ?
thanks
Saul

No. Dot 4 should be fine.

OK ! thanks . I hoped so. I understand that the difference between the dot 3 and 4 is the higher boiling temp. of the dot4.
