Postby VanDine » Wed Jul 03, 2013 11:42 am

Hello! New to me GL1100!Have trouble with this old bike being top-heavy---My legs pretty short to reach the ground!
If I sit right to the front edge of the seat my feet just touch the ground .Bike is GL1100 Interstate with trunk and all.
Side stand very short--bike leans a long way over.Maybe a longer version is available? Need advise! Thanks for reading!

You can cut the seat foam down or drop the forks a bit but that will change your rake and steering = be careful, shorter rear shocks, there are tips you can ad to the side stand any on line store should have them or motorcycle shop, or carry a small block of wood throw it down...around town and leave one where you park at home, taller soles on your shoes  ,
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,

Most 1100s stand up pretty straight. You might want to check the frame section that the side stand is mounted to for rust.
