Front rotor washer??

Postby washandy98664 » Thu Jul 04, 2013 2:01 pm

After removing my rotors I came across these like asbestos washers/spacers between my rotors and the wheels. They are about .06 thick. They split/tore when I removed them from the old wheel. Looking for new ones, but don't know what they are called or where to find them.
Any help would be great. As always thanks in advance.

Found out what it is .
Damping shim, used to reduce vibration ,squealing and such.
45128-445-630 is part number. No longer manufactured .
Well I guess I could make 2 out of gasket material, don't like the idea of taking this off of the braking area of the bike.
Always fell better safe then sorry.

My 82 did not have these, and I never heard any kind of squealing of that sort - you could very likely get away without them.
