GL1000, GL1100 engine differences

Hi All, I have a question..........i recently purchase a second handhand engine for my 81 GL1100 InterState, my question is ....when you put the 1000 and 1100 engines next to each do you know the difference between the two?

The 1000 uses a point type ignition system that is attached to the left rear head(cam),
The 1100 uses a pulse coil setup attached to the rear of the engine ,so the place where the 1000 points are, is capped off flat.

+1 and serial numbers are a clue too. ENGINE NUMBER GL1E-ANYTHING = 1000 75 TO 77
