testing tempreature sending unit

I have 1982 GL1100I I need to know how to test the temperature sending unit I know where it is I need to know how to get to it to test it the gage works but not like it should thanks.

Getting to it is difficult at best.It's easiest to remove the radiator...The book gives resistance measurments at different temperatures.

By chance are you also having problems with your fuel gauge.?There tied together by a common 7 volt regulator..It can be bad.
The downloadable service manual goes through all the specific testing of the gauges and associated parts.

No the fuel gage works fine I tested the gage on the dash by grounding it the gage went over to hot so I know it's not that the only thing that leaves is the sending unit it self.
The only article I could find on Goldwingdocs is how to change radiator hoses I know where it is but what is the best way to get to it .
One of the parts guys said too remove the carburetor tube bolts and slide it back far enough to try and get it out so I'm going to ask the people I know have the answers Thank You
