brake pedal 83 Aspencade

Postby rcaron321 » Sun Jul 28, 2013 2:51 pm

I find the bake pedal difficult to access because of the fuel pump. I have avg sized feet. Has anyone tried a brake pedal extension? Robert, old guy in indy.

Is the pedal hard to reach because you have to press down so far to get it to operate? I only mention this because I had a similar problem UNTIL I properly and completely bled the brakes...(after bleeding using a MitiVac) pump the pedal many times to get it working, then use whatever means are at your disposal to keep the pedal firmly in place overnight.

I was dubious about this, to be sure - MAN what a difference! The brakes work with a minimum of pedal travel and they work well.....give it a shot - you've got nothing to lose and better brakes to gain!

John, thanks for your suggestion, but the brakes are "up" and functioning very well. The problem is the location of the pedal-proximity to the fuel pump.

I think you mean the tach drive elbow..but anyway you could bend the arm down a bit..heat it up and bend it. Or maybe you need to adjust it's seat on the pivot stud???
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83

Thanx. I adjusted the pedal downward slightly. It's better but I ordered a pedal extender from Kuryakan. I'll post the results.
