Brake light

Postby 19GoldWing83 » Fri Aug 16, 2013 12:01 pm

I recently replaced my rear rotor, rebuilt calipers on front and rear, bled the lines, now my brake light stays on. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Pete.

One of the 2 switches is still on
The brake pedal switch has a spring in it attached to the foot lever.it is adjustable.
I'd unplug that one first.

The switch can stick.Ive cleaned and lubed mine. The other switch is less likely to stick (brake lever) Altho if the lever dosen't return to full stroke,it will activate the switch. It also can be unplugged right at the back of the switch. There generally under the master cylinder.
I vaguely remember on a old wing, the brake light switch being attached to the hydraulic block by the steering head.where the steel lines attached and connected to the flex lines. This may have been on the gl1000 tho.

It was the rear brake. Disconnected the spring, reconnected, works fine. Thanks for the tips. I love this site!
