neutral light

hi guys, strange thing happened to-day while ridding in 5th gear at 89 kph down hill the neutral light started to flash for a few seconds , this happened about 3 times!!!!!!!! has any one had this happen before.

Check your neutral switch wire connection. It may be grounding on something causing the light to come on.
Might be a dirty neutral switch too.

Yup, any time that neutral wire gets shorted out on something, the neutral light will come on.

Seems like the speed caused a more than normal amount of air to flow past a wire, causing it to flutter, and therefore make contact with something that caused a short and lead to the flashing. Or the vibration from the speed and gravity from bike position may have cause a dirty switch to give a false reading.

I would trace the wire and see to it that there is no possibility of a short, then if that isn't the problem, clean the switch. If it only happens at that speed and while going downhill, that is a curious thing.
